Location: Flint Lane, UK
This shaker-style kitchen project on Flint Lane was shaped around the client’s wish for a calm, practical space that still felt refined and considered. The property itself has generous proportions, so the brief was not about adding impact through excess. Instead, the focus was on balance, proportion, and longevity. Every design choice was made with daily use in mind.
As part of our bespoke kitchen design, cabinetry was built in-frame and finished in a soft neutral tone, allowing the architecture of the room to take centre stage. Shaker doors were selected for their simplicity and quiet character, they sit comfortably between traditional and modern, which suited the client’s taste and the wider setting of the home.
The large island anchors the room and naturally draws people together. It functions as a preparation area, an informal dining spot, and a place to pause during the day. This approach reflects how many contemporary kitchens are now used, not just for cooking but for living. The darker island cabinets provide a subtle contrast, adding depth without imposing on the space.
Worktops have been kept clean and modest, with a focus on durability rather than just attractiveness. Integrated appliances were carefully positioned to ensure symmetry and unbroken lines. Storage solutions were considered in depth, ensuring that everyday goods are near at hand while less-used pieces remain hidden away.
This project reflects our wider approach as luxury kitchen designers, where restraint often delivers the strongest result. The finished kitchen feels settled and purposeful rather than showy. It is a clear example of thoughtful contemporary kitchen design, tailored to its setting and its owners.
From concept to completion, the process covered full kitchen design and installation, with close attention paid to finish, alignment, and long-term usability. The result is a kitchen that feels quietly confident and genuinely lived in, perfectly suited to life on Flint Lane.
